Modes of Spirituality:
By George A. Boyd ©2006
People adopt three major approaches to spirituality. These are:
The Way of Being - This approach focuses your attention on the eternal now of the Soul. Here you live your life as a moment to moment process. This mode does not attempt to actively transform the potentials of consciousness, but allows you to fully experience karma and move through it.
The Way of Faith - Here you surrender to the Divine and turn over your spiritual development to a Master or Initiate. In this scenario, you may ask the Master to save your Soul, to take you to heaven after death, or to protect you from evil forces. You trust in your Master, and have faith that your Master will unfold your spiritual potentials as is appropriate.
The Way of Transformation - In this mode, you actively take charge of your spiritual evolutionary development and actively unfold your spiritual potentials. You use a transformational method to draw down the Spirit to burn away your karma and allow your Soul to move forward on the Path.
In approaches that emphasize the Way of Being, the present time is held to be of the highest value. The aim is to create the experience of sacred time, in which eternity can be glimpsed through the portals of perception, by mindful attention, and actions that express the Soul. Karma Yoga, Zen and Vipassana meditation cultivate this state.
In approaches that emphasize the Way of Faith, you pray, or call upon your Master to send you Grace and to help you. This state cultivates receptivity to the spiritual influence and suffusion of your spiritual Master. Many religions advocate this way, which may be supplemented by performing rituals, studying scriptures, and worshipping the Divine.
In paths that reveal the way of transformation, the focus is upon dissolving karma and drawing closer to the Divine. This knowledge of a transformational method is imparted in a special ceremony (diksha). Here the rate of spiritual progress is largely up to you. To make progress, you must develop the regular habit of doing your transformational method daily; this regular practice is called sadhana.
Speeding up Spiritual Evolution
If you do no transformational method, but otherwise lead a life in tune with your sense of truth and integrity (dharma), you may expect to move forward on the path three to twelve nodal points in your lifetime. This wearing through your karma is a slow process; it continues inexorably lifetime to lifetime.
If you do intensive personal processing and psychotherapy, or sincerely practice your religious faith, inviting the ministry of the Holy Spirit and the angels to purify your character, you can move forward 15 to 20 nodal points in your lifetime.
If you are exposed, however, to Light Immersion, you might move forward three to five nodal points in one day. If you have a transformational method and you use it correctly and regularly, there is truly no limit to how many nodal points you could open up.
For example, in approximately 22 years, one of the disciples of the Mudrashram® teachers has demonstrated this incredible progress available through a transformational technique. This individual moved from the Abstract Mind Plane through the entire Planetary Realm, the Transplanetary Realm, the Cosmic Sphere, and the Supracosmic Sphere. This disciple then opened an entire Path in the Transcendental Sphere, and now is beginning ascension through the Bridge Pathten of thousands of nodal points, the equivalent spiritual progress of thousands of lives, in one lifetime.
This key technique of the transformational mantra given in the Mudrashram® Master Course in Meditation and the Accelerated Meditation Program, if used correctly and regularly is sufficient to speed up spiritual evolution far beyond that mediated through the karmic engine, or that produced by psychotherapeutic or religious modalities
Augmented by Light Immersion, this acceleration of spiritual development can be increased several fold.
Lack of Progress with Transformational Methods
It is our observation that unfortunately, many of those who have been given this revolutionary method seldom use it and often abandon it, not understanding its inestimable value. We can speculate as to why these individuals may not be using this master key.
It could be that the rapid processing of karma and unfolding of their spiritual potentials engendered by the Way of Transformation frightens them.
It could be that they do not recognize the changes taking place within for what they are, and assume that the technique is not working.
It could also be that they may have not practiced the technique correctly, and therefore do not obtain any results, so that they stop using it.
Whatever the reason, we note that only a few individuals have stayed with the practice. Those that have done so have made truly remarkable progress.
Benefits of Continuing Transformational Practice
Those who embrace the Way of Transformation have the potential of making unlimited progress during this current life.
Those who follow the Way of Transformation are not content to merely brood upon the present time and the holy void of being; or to endlessly pray to the Creator for the fulfillment of their desires, or engage in religious rituals and ceremonies. They call down the Unfathomable Light of Spirit to speed them on their way to fulfill their spiritual purpose and grant them ultimate liberation from the Great Wheel.
Of the three modes of spirituality, only onethe Way of Transformationhas the potential to liberate the Soul and free the spirit. May the genuine seeker of the Truth find this key.
