Judy's Poem

© 2001 by George A. Boyd

I saw you out in the moonlight laughing.

You were out among the pixies and wood nymphs,

Listening to the music of the forest.

Your toes were caressing the rich loamy earth.

You were lost among the fragrant, rainbow-hued flowers.

You smiled and made deaf-signs at me,

Beaming in the Astral Light.

It seemed you did not fully touch the ground.

Though large of frame, you walked so lightly–

Like a feather on the forest floor–

That I expected you to levitate, soaring to the mansions of your joy.

All fins and flippers, you attack the sea,

Paddling like a furry puppy, so glad to be alive.

We are honored as your splashing here,

Thrashes this pond into bubbly, effervescent foam.

And though you struggle so, we shall not let you drown.

Oh Judy, Judy, your goblet is so full of joy that you can scarcely contain it!

Your thoughts, like fluffy clouds, come gently floating by.

You reach out with your magic pen to write upon the sky

Words of goodwill and hope to lift up and inspire.

Go out now joyful cherub, and set the hearts of men afire.

This is my good friend, Judy, who is very proud of her poem. She graciously allowed us to use the poem George wrote for her, and for us to use her picture.
