Steps of Awakening

By George A. Boyd © 2022

Q: Is there a pattern of awakening that most people follow? It seems many people are now embracing mindfulness, but are there deeper experiences possible?

A: Mindfulness is the first step on a ladder of deeper insights and inner discoveries. As the Soul evolves, you may see a typical pattern of progressive awakening of inner faculties:

  1. Mindfulness – awaken as your attention in the present time, and monitor your experience
  2. Opening the third eye – unite attention with the attentional principle and activate this immortal essence to see within and use its power of intention
  3. Self-awareness – unite attention with your Self, and take charge of your life
  4. Wave of the present time – Become aware of the Soul’s thought and intention entering your human life in the present time
  5. Seed atom of your Psychic vehicle – Become aware of your psychic abilities and connect with guides and angels
  6. The loving Christ consciousness – Guide your life according to wisdom and moral principles, cultivate virtue, and regard others with love and compassion
  7. The creator consciousness – Activate your Mighty I AM Presence to create and manifest in your life and to dissolve unwanted conditions
  8. Servant of humanity – Activate your Manasic Vortex and become the instrument of your Soul, your Monad, and connect with the Masters of the Hierarchy of Light
  9. Illumination – Activate your Illumined Mind and inspire and uplift others
  10. Realization – Realize your Soul and enact its purpose

The awakening of these levels is coordinated with the Soul’s development. For example:

  • Step six is associated with taking the First Planetary Initiation; step seven, the Second Initiation; step eight, the Third Initiation; step nine, the Fourth Initiation; and step ten, the Fifth Initiation.
  • Those sojourning through the Psychic Realm activate steps four and five.
  • Psychotherapy and Coaching seek to enable others to function from the Self at step three.
  • Steps one and two are the foundation of meditation. At step one, you become aware of your inner life; at step two, you gain the facility to work on yourself.

If you are ready to awaken your Soul’s potentials and bring forward the expression of your Soul’s purpose in life, it is important that you learn to meditate. Enacting Your Own Agenda

By George A. Boyd © 2022

Q: It seems a lot of people I meet live unsatisfying, inauthentic lives. Do you have any insights for them?

A: If someone is living an inauthentic life, it suggests they are carrying out someone else’s agenda for their loves, and not their own. They are following the life prescriptions of:

  • Their parents
  • Their romantic partner
  • Their employer
  • Their religious minister or clergy of their faith
  • Their commanding officer in the military
  • The leader of a criminal gang, a terrorist cell, or a hate group
  • A political leader
  • A spiritual leader, a Guru or spiritual Master

We invite you to notice whether you are following the agendas of these other people in your own life.

When you follow someone else’s agenda, that other person dictates the guidelines for:

  • What you should do in your career
  • What you should believe about other people, about yourself, about God, or about politics
  • What you should think
  • What you should do with your life
  • Whom you should marry, or whether you should not marry
  • To what you should dedicate your life

As you examine your own life, in what ways are other people setting the guidelines for your beliefs, thoughts, values, and behavior? If this truly is your life, what guidelines will you set for yourself instead?

What’s going on here? You are allowing other people to program your beliefs and behavior, and doing what other people tell you to do. Now, certainly it is not a good idea to not do what your employer or drill instructor tells you to do, as the situation requires that you obey them—except when what they tell you is illegal or immoral. But in many other situations, you are following the guidance of other people without honoring your own essential truth—your dharma—and this is why you feel inauthentic.

To begin to emerge into you own authentic life, questions like these will help you get into touch with what your life is about:

  1. Who am I?
  2. What are my values? What do I know is true apart from what other people tell me?
  3. What do I want to do with my life? What would bring me fulfillment?
  4. What is the purpose of my life? What is my deepest nature attempting to bring forward in my life?
  5. To honor that vision of what I am meant to become, to what do I need to make a commitment? What actions to I need to take to make that vision real?
  6. What is holding me back from stepping into my authentic life? Whom do I need to remove from my life to embrace my true calling?
  7. What specific steps will I need to take—and in what time frame—to extricate from my inauthentic life and step into my genuine one?

If you take this step, certain people in your life will not be pleased. They will criticize you. They will argue with you. They will tell you your judgment is flawed… that you are crazy… or perhaps, that the devil is seducing you.

But if you do this, you will discover the reason you were born. You will unearth your passion. You will uncover your truth. Your will connect with your Soul and the Divine in a new way. You will change in ways that you could not have imagined.

When you re-establish your link with your Soul, you reconnect with your true agenda—not someone else’s agenda…but what you were meant to do. It will feel real… authentic… genuine… and true. You will emerge from your cocoon as your inner butterfly.

Those of you who are in need of support in moving from the fake you to the real you, we offer you coaching. Reflections on Ceremonial Magic

By George A. Boyd ©2022

Q: I’ve heard the Seventh Ray is referred to as the Ray of Ceremonial Magic? Is this like what stage magicians do?

A: Ceremonial magic is based on the idea that repetition of a rite intensifies its power and influence. Repetition appears in your life, in the levels of your mind, and in the spiritual Planes. Here are some examples:

  1. Repetition of behavior leads to habit.
  2. Repetition or rehearsal of information leads to rote learning.
  3. Repetition of emotionalized messages you receive from others that you take in (introjection) colors your feelings about your worthiness and your self-esteem.
  4. Repetition of intentional suggestions (affirmations) produces belief change and initiates the possibility of change in your life conditions.
  5. Repetition of spiritual rituals and ceremonies builds up a powerful resonance in the Aethers.
  6. Repetition of mantras and spiritual songs focuses the attention on a discrete band of the Great Continuum of Consciousness and builds up the resonance upon a track or Path of Light on the inner Planes.
  7. Repetition of the orderly ministry of the Hierarchy of Light to humanity brings about progressive enactment of the Divine Plan on Earth.

An example of (5) is the Catholic Mass, which has been performed in much the same way for centuries, and has become a powerful vessel of Grace. The Kumbha Mela, held every four years in India, generates a dynamic spiritual force that uplifts millions of people.

As for (6), most spiritual groups have developed mantras, chants, or spiritual songs that bring their followers’ attention in to communion with the archetypes and spiritual beings upon their Path. Some of these chants, like Om Namah Shivaya, have been repeated for millennia, and they have acquired great power and spiritual magnetism.

Repetition type (7) is exemplified by the ministry of the Hierarchy every two hours during the Brahma Mahurta—the hours of two to four AM in each of the twelve zones of the world—this touches the spiritual essence in each being and can stir this essence to awaken and actualize its spiritual potentials; this Divine suffusion also conveys the silent whisper of the Divine Will, which can lead each being to discover their Soul Purpose.

This powerful effect of ritual can be seen in many areas of life:

  • Initiation rituals introduce people to a spiritual Path or membership in a religion.
  • Government rituals create order in society.
  • Religious rituals sustain faith; enhance participation in worship and prayer ceremonies; and cement identification as a member of that religion.
  • Healing rituals build up strong healing vortices where people can recover from physical and emotional illness; some locales are known for miraculous healing for some people.
  • Scientific rituals employ rigorous scientific protocols with careful testing methods that yield reliable and verifiable results.
  • Meditation and prayer rituals lead to reformation of character, inner transformation, and spiritual progress.
  • The ritual of work leads to progress in business and the creation of wealth for individuals, companies, and society.

We encourage you to investigate the role that repetition and ritual play in your life, and how they improve your life, enhance your awareness, promote growth and progress, and create order and harmony within you. The Seventh Ray is a very powerful influence on humanity: we urge you to meditate upon it to understand it better and apply its energies to augment your life and your spirituality, and bring fulfillment of your Soul Purpose.

Tricks of the Mind

Tricks of the Mind: Things that Appear to Be
the Highest State of Consciousness, but Aren’t

By George A. Boyd © 2022

Q: Why do people believe that they have reached the highest state of consciousness, when they haven’t?

A: There are several elements at play here that make individuals stop at a certain level and not go beyond it:

  1. Their technique does not allow progress beyond a certain point. For example, those that unfold the Supracosmic seed atom on a Supracosmic Path can only develop it to the origin of that seed atom in the brain chakra on that Path.
  2. They reach the Presence of the Divine in their cosmology. For example, a Christian monastic that practices the Jesus Prayer unfolds his or her Moon Soul nucleus of identity into the Presence of the Father God in the First Mesoteric Initiation, and assumes the form of the saint in the Courts of the Lord. They are devoted to this form of God; believe this form of the Divine is the only True God; and consequently, they have no desire to go to any higher level.
  3. They do not see any higher level because of the inherent curvature of inner space on the Continuum. For example, Yogis who unite their attention with their cosmic consciousness see Brahman, at the brain center of the Cosmic Man or Woman as the highest state of consciousness, which they believe confers Supreme Self Realization, Enlightenment, God Realization, or Nirbikalpa Samadhi. When they move beyond Brahman into the Void, which is experienced as a Great Ocean of Peace (Shanti Desh), they see their Path reveals a new segment that connects with the Hridaya chakra, where their inner Yogi Preceptor dwells and the Lord of the Yogis oversees that inner throne of Mastery.
  4. They become identified with a vehicular seed atom, a nucleus of identity, a spirit, or an ensouling entity, and can only view the inner Planes from that perspective. For example, those who practice the Taoist microcosmic circulation technique become identified with the seed atom on the Subtle Etheric Subplane; those that practice the Merkaba method become identified with their seed atom on the fifth Subplane of the Psychic Realm (the Star Seed). Those that practice selected decrees or use attunements to open the inner track that connects with the Mighty I AM Presence become identified with this nucleus of identity. Those that practice a mantra to remember their spirit (simran) become identified with the spirit. Those that awaken Kundalini to the presence of an ensouling entity, receive attunements to unite their attention with it, or practice sustained contemplation of that ensouling entity become identified with it.
  5. The map of consciousness they utilize does not describe anything beyond that particular segment of the Path. For example, Baba Muktananda describes the cosmology of the Supracosmic portion of the Shiva 8 Path in his book, The Play of Consciousness, but only that Path. Sant Mat Masters use maps of consciousness to describe the Path of the spirit on the Second Transcendental Path (T2), but do not describe anything beyond; the Eckankar™ Masters similarly employ maps of consciousness to describe only T5.
  6. Their belief in and devotion to a form of God or to a spiritual Master makes them not want to go to any higher world, even if they know about these higher levels. For example, Mahara, the wife of my first spiritual teacher, Maha Genii Turriziani, only aspired to reach to the Cosmic Hierarchy where Maha Genii dwells.
  7. They are locked into an altered state of consciousness, where they see their spiritual teacher as the highest Initiate or the World Savior. For example, in many religious cults, members learn to keep their attention in an altered state of consciousness, where they see their cult leader on the inner horizon of the mind, which appears to them to be the highest level. Those experiencing Kundalini syndromes may be involuntarily fixed in a higher spiritual essence, such as their cosmic consciousness or a Supracosmic seed atom; they behold the Initiate who awakened this essence at the apparent summit of spiritual development.

The Mudrashram® Multiplane Masters brought to the world a complete mapping of the levels of the mind—Conscious, Subconscious, Metaconscious, and Superconscious—in their groundbreaking Mudrashram® Correspondence Course. From the standpoint of an Adi Sat Guru, every Path is visible from its beginning to its origin—and the root teacher of the Mudrashram® lineage is established in the Infinite Stage (Param Moksha Desh), which views the Great Continuum of Consciousness in its entirety.

Because of the Mudrashram® Masters’ comprehensive map, they can identify when individuals become locked into the limited perspective of a particular Plane, a band of the Continuum, or an isolated Path. The Mudrashram® Masters lead individuals to complete that segment of their spiritual development, and take up the Great Work of finishing their spiritual development in the Subtle, Planetary, Transplanetary, Cosmic, Supracosmic, and Transcendental levels of the Continuum, and ultimately guide them to reach the Infinite Stage.

These tricks of the mind are on full display on the Bridge Path, when the Soul of the Bridge Path reaches the causal ring that surrounds the Light of Liberation from Birth and Death: here wave after wave of entities appear before the inner eye of the Soul of the Bridge Path announcing, “Oh Lanoo, you have now reached the Highest Stage… you have now reached the Light of Liberation… you are now freed from birth and death…” in an attempt to have the Soul of the Bridge Path stop its upward journey to the True Light that genuinely bestows freedom from birth and death.
